In 1929, Lester Henry, Jr. founded the accounting firm that would later become Henry & Peters, P.C. He was joined in the mid-30's by partner Robert K. Peters. Today, with offices in Tyler and Longview, Henry & Peters, P.C. has 12 officers and one of the largest groups of staffed professionals in East Texas. In the beginning, the Firm concentrated on serving the expanding oil and gas industry. Tyler's oldest, and one of the area's largest full service public accounting firms, Henry & Peters, P.C. now serves a diverse client base that includes financial institutions and manufacturers, among many others. The Certified Public Accountants on staff have various backgrounds, including experience with international firms, local firms and diverse industries. The firm and staff are members of the following organizations: The American Institute of CPAs, the Texas Society of CPAs, the East Texas Chapter of CPAs, the East Texas Estate Planning Council, the Institute of Management Accountants, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Members of the firm also serve on numerous boards of civic and professional organizations in Tyler and Longview. Henry & Peters, P.C. is subject to peer review of our auditing and accounting functions every three years. We have completed nine such reviews, receiving the highest rating attainable, which is an unqualified report on our system of quality controls, each time. These reports are available for public examination. In order to ensure the continuation of the quality of the services we provide, each professional staff member participates in a minimum of 120 hours of continuing professional education every three years. This is accomplished through a combination of in-house, local, state and national training programs.
