Now that the April 15 filing deadline is past, it’s easy to turn your attention to more interesting and exciting things – like that long-awaited summer vacation! But for many people, April 15 was just the time to request an extension of the filing deadline, and the new, October 15 deadline will be here before you know it. As a reminder, an extension of time to file is not an extension of time to pay any remaining tax due. To minimize potential penalties and interest, and to ensure a smooth and complete process for filing the return ahead of the deadline, now would be a great time to gather the remaining information and bring it to our office.
Take a minute to think back over your 2024 year of income and deductions, being mindful of any new or different information, such as
- Did you start a new business?
- Did you open or close an investment account?
- Did you make estimated tax payments?
- Did you have any changes in the status of your dependents?
- Did you incur any losses due to a federally declared disaster?
Information can be scanned and delivered electronically by email through our secure portal or delivered in person.
