Professional Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in public accounting in a related area
  • CPA certification or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam

Required Skills and Abilities

  • CPA certification or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Team orientated and strong interpersonal skills
  • Capable of thinking independently and performing engagements with minimal supervision
  • Project management skills and ability to act as the “in-charge” accountant on engagements
  • Focused on developing technical skills and is committed to continuous performance improvement

Duties/Areas of KnowledgeTechnology:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe
  • Ability to research technical tax and accounting issues using common accounting research tools
  • Working knowledge of or ability to quickly learn and utilize Trial balance and Tax preparation software packages (i.e., Engagement, CCH, Lacerte)
  • QuickBooks Experience preferred (required for Accounting Solutions)

Tax:

  • Prepare all types of tax returns with minimal supervision
  • Train and develop staff through review and feedback of tax returns
  • Function as in-charge for client groups and returns
  • Appropriately research tax issues and questions
  • Recognize potential problem areas and propose solutions

Audit:

  • Determine audit procedures necessary to meet engagement objectives
  • Conduct fieldwork effectively and efficiently
  • Supervise audit staff in completion of audit procedures
  • Prepare financial statements and required reports
  • Complete administrative requirements
  • Communicate professionally with client and staff
  • Recognize potential problem areas and propose solutions

Accounting Solutions:

  • Review and process payroll tax deposits and payroll deductions in accordance with federal and state deadlines.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly and annual payroll tax reports to all federal and state agencies.
  • Review and prepare accounts payable and process yearend reporting required by state and federal agencies, such as 1099 returns Process sales and use tax returns
  • Post journal entries
  • Review and compile financial statements for variances and accuracy including balance sheet, income statement and statement of cash flows
  • Train and develop staff through review and feedbackCommunicate professionally with clients and staff
  • Recognize potential problem areas and propose solutions
  • Able to multitask and handle various clients
