Henry & Peters, a leading accounting firm in Northeast Texas with office locations in Tyler, Longview, and Frisco, is seeking an IT Support Technician to provide front-line technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues in a professional office environment. This role involves troubleshooting, assisting with upgrades and deployments, maintaining technology inventory, and supporting ongoing IT projects across our multiple locations. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, basic technical knowledge, and a desire to grow within an IT environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to end users by troubleshooting hardware, software, and basic networking issues.
- Assign software licenses and assist with installations, configurations, and upgrades.
- Document issues and resolutions through our IT service management (ITSM) system.
- Assist in maintaining accurate technology inventory and deploying IT equipment.
- Support the IT team with departmental projects and system improvements.
- Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications - High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field preferred.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and common business applications.
- Interest in learning networking, IT systems, and related protocols.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and handle multiple requests.
- Must be physically able to perform basic IT support tasks, including crawling under desks to access cables or equipment, lifting items up to 25 pounds, and transporting computer hardware such as monitors, docking stations, and other devices as needed.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Prior experience providing technical support in a professional office or corporate environment is strongly preferred. Must be comfortable interacting with users at all levels across multiple departments.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
